Dear colleagues:
We would like to invite you to the 9th Annual Conference on Prevention in
Renal Disease that will take place in Toronto in October 1-2, 2010.
In response to the recommendations of last year's participants the following
topics/themes will be covered this year:
- Hypertensive Nephrosclerosis
- Prevention of Renal Disease in the Elderly
- Prevention of Renal Disease in the Pediatric Patient
- Prevention of Renal Disease in Women
- Interesting Cases of Secondary Nephropathies
- Psychonephrology I: Nephroprevention in End of Life
- Prevention in the Patient with Diabetic Renal Disease
- Prevention of Cardiorenal Syndrome
- Psychonephrology II: Screening, Prevention and Treating Sexual Problems in
Patients with CKD
- Nephroprevention in Transplant Donors and Recipients
- Nephroprevention in the Dialysis Patient
Because of expressed interest last year, psychonephrology was expanded to 2
sessions and an option to participate in a Balint group were addressed this
year.
Presentation of each of these topics/themes will maintain the previous format
of two-hour blocks comprised of three 30-minute presentations followed by 30
minutes for discussion. This format allows extensive interaction between
speakers and audience.
Deadline for abstract submission and early registration is September 6,
2010.
Last year we provided scholarships, in the form of reimbursement of their
registration fee, for residents and fellows in nephrology, who attended the
conference. We will continue this policy this year to allow fellows/residents to
take advantage of this outstanding educational experience.
Our gratitude goes to the members of the organizing committee and the
International Advisory Board for their advice, suggestions and time spent in
putting together this exciting program.
Also our special thanks are extended to the outstanding faculty who have
agreed to speak and share their experience with our participants.
Finally we thank our gold sponsor, Amgen, our bronze sponsors, AstraZeneca and Janssen
Ortho, and our supporters, Astellas, Baxter, Gambro, Genzyme, and Servier, for their
generous support, without which this conference would not have been possible.
We warmly invite our nephrology colleagues from Canada, the United States and
the rest of the world to join us in this exciting conference.
See you in Toronto, October 1-2, 2010
